1. Bahrain World Trade Center (Bahrain WTC):

This magnificent structure is designed by multinational architectural firm, Atkins and is the first Skyscraper in the world to integrate wind turbines into its design. It is 240 metre high having 50 floors twin tower complex. Several awards had been received for its sustainability, including

  1. The 2006, LEAF Award for “Best Use of Technology within a large scheme
  2. The Arab Construction World for “Sustainable Design Award”

The two towers are linked via three 225kW wind turbine sky bridges which sums up to 675 kW total wind power capacity. The accelerated wind are passed through the turbines are funneled by the twin sail-shaped buildings designed on either side through the gaps provided within them. This has the increased potential to generate electricity.

This World Trade Center lies close to King Faisal highway near the towers of Bahrain Financial Harbour (BFH), NSB AND Abraj Al Lulu which are some of the famous landmark towers nearby.

2. The Avenues Bahrain:

The Avenues is situated along Bahrain bay. It is a waterfront shopping complex developed by King Faisal Corniche Development Company.

It is 2,940,000 sq ft development complex having family-friendly environment. It features numerous playgrounds, outdoor jogging, tracks, gym, waterfront restaurants, cafes, arcades, souq and cinemas.

3. Bahrain National Museum:

This museum is the largest, oldest, first modern museum situated in Manama adjacent to National Theatre of Bahrain. The modern museum was designed by Danish architects Krohn & Hartvig Rasmussen which was officially opened in December 1988.

There are two buildings spanning a floor space of 20,000 sqm constructed on an artificial peninsula overlooking the neighbouring Muharraq Island. There are 6 permanent exhibitions, an educational hall, a gift shop, cafeteria, administrative offices, laboratories and warehouses in the complex.

Bahrain’s ancient archaeological artifacts collection are featured in this museum. Three halls are devoted to archaeology and ancient civilization of Dilmun and two halls depict the culture and lifestyle of Bahrain’s pre-industrial past. Natural History Hall was recently constructed and opened in 1993 which focuses on the natural environment of Bahrain which includes wide range specimens of Bahrain’s flora and fauna.

4. Bab Al Bahrain:

Bab Al Bahrain is a historical building situated in Central business district of Manama. It forms the main entrance to the Manama Souq.

The tourism office and handicrafts shop are housed on the ground floor. There are several shops and cafes, including Naseef Cafe, the first Ice cream shop in the country. Government Avenue lies in front of Bal Al Bahrain that has major banks and business establishment. The Gold City Shopping Complex located in Government Avenue hosts famous Jewellery Showrooms for gold jewellery purchase.

5. Manama Souq:

If you wish to be in the atmosphere of bustling street with busy people, this Manama Souq gives you that experience. This souq is a warren of narrow streets and alleyways commuting to the shops where you could buy electronic goods, bargain T-shirts, spices, shisha pipes and other lots which you would like to purchase for you and your friends while returning to your home country. Bab Al Bahrain is the main entrance to this Manama Souq.

6. Bahrain Financial Harbour:

On the northern shore of Manama adjacent to the King Faisal highway via King Fahd Causeway, you will find this huge structure of Bahrain Financial Harbour with great buildings and amazing skyscrapers.

It consists of two tall twin towers – Harbour Tower East and Harbour Tower West of the height 260 m (853 Ft..) with 53 floors.

Harbour Mall is connected to both these towers at the second floor. It has retail space measuring approximately 22,000 sqm. This Mall also houses Bahrain Stock Exchange and other various investment firms.

Harbour Heights Towers, formerly called Villamar located in the North of these Harbour Towers are known for residential Skyscrapers. 54, 43, 52 storeys high skyscrapers with 437 apartments, 52 villas and 17 penthouses are being built here with health club and restaurants.

In Harbour Row Project, there are row of luxury homes alongside a commercial waterfront promenade.
